I’m currently a third year student at UMW and have taken five courses and two practicums in my college experience thus far. I also did the Teachers for Tomorrow program at my high school during the 2022-2023 school year, so some of these materials will be from that experience, as well.

6th Grade US History since 1865 – Ni River Middle Practicum

During the Spring of 2025, I did a practicum in a sixth grade classroom at a school in the Fredericksburg area. I co-taught multiple lessons with my mentor teacher with lessons he prepared, but I taught and prepared all the materials for one lesson on the home front during WWII. This lesson aligns with VA Standard USII.7c The student will apply social science skills to understand the major causes and effects of American involvement in World War II by explaining and evaluating the impact of the war on the home front. Harlem Renaissance Mock Lesson

This lesson was created with three of my peers for my EDUC 351 Instructional Design & Assessment course at UMW in the Spring of 2025. Reconstruction Mock Lesson

This was a lesson that was created for my EDUC 290 Teaching Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students course at UMW in the Fall of 2024. For this lesson, we were inputting aspects of differentiation for two EB (Emergent Bilingual) cases into the lesson as well as accounting for the WIDA levels. 8th Grade Civics – Harmony Middle

I completed a field experience my last year of high school in the Spring of 2023 in eighth grade Civics & Economics. During my time there, I taught lessons with prepared materials by my mentor teacher, but I also taught two lessons that I prepared myself: Checks and Balances and State and Local Government.

This lesson aligns with VA Standard CE.6.b The student will apply social science skills to understand constitutional government at the national level by explaining the principle of separation of powers and the operation of checks and balances.

State and Local Government

This lesson aligns with the VA Standard CE.8.a The student will apply social science skills to understand the American constitutional government at the local level by describing the structure and powers of the local government.
